MENA Newswire News Desk: Dubai Airports is fully prepared to handle the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming peak season, according to Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports. Al Joker emphasized the airport’s readiness for the rainy season and the expected increase in activity, citing close collaboration with government agencies and strategic partners as key to this preparedness.

Al Joker noted that Dubai Airports is leveraging advanced planning and passenger data analysis to manage the influx effectively. Regular coordination meetings with stakeholders aim to ensure that all teams are equipped to handle the challenges posed by the heightened passenger volumes and seasonal weather conditions.

The COO highlighted the positive impact of Dubai’s favorable climate during the winter months, coupled with the holiday season, which traditionally attracts a larger number of visitors. He revealed that Dubai Airports is set to handle over 23.2 million passengers during the current quarter, pushing the total passenger count for 2024 to an estimated 91.9 million.

Al Joker expressed optimism about future growth, projecting more than 94 million passengers in 2025 and over 97 million in 2026. He added that the airport is on track to reach a milestone of 100 million passengers annually between 2027 and 2028, underscoring Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub.

Reflecting on recent performance, Al Joker highlighted the strong results of the third quarter, during which 23.7 million passengers passed through Dubai’s airports—a significant rise from the 21.8 million recorded in the second quarter. The total passenger count for the first nine months of 2024 reached 68.6 million, marking a 6.3% year-on-year increase.

He further pointed to a parallel rise in flight operations, with a 6.4% growth in the number of flights, bringing the total to 327,000 during the same period. These metrics, he stated, reflect the sustained growth of Dubai Airports as it continues to enhance its capabilities and maintain its reputation for efficiency and excellence. With the continued implementation of strategic measures and close cooperation with partners, Dubai Airports remains committed to delivering seamless travel experiences for passengers, even as traffic volumes reach unprecedented levels.
